BARTLEBY'S WORKPLACE
I was inspired to create this scene when I recently read the graphic novel 'Bartleby The Scrivener'. It is based on the book by Herman Melville (the author of Moby Dick). I really liked the story and the art style used by José-Luis Munuera to draw the graphic novel. The book is telling the story of Bartleby, a young man who is working in a chancellery on the Wall Street. He is a striving and diligent man, but all of a sudden he refuses to work. When his boss gives him tasks, he rejects it with the sentence: 'I would prefer not to'. Bartleby stays in his workplace all day but just stares at the wall in front of the window. I recreated his workplace in 3D, just as the artist illustrated it in the graphic novel. All the textures are handpainted. I hope you like this scene and enjoy discovering the details. Check out the link below to see the whole 3D model on Sketchfab.
