KEEP TALKING AND ESCAPE
WHAT IS KEEP TALKING AND ESCAPE:
The given task was to create a prototype on paper and a digital game in 4 weeks. The setting and the way of implementation was freely selectable. We decided to develop a 2-Player-Coop Escape Game and digitize this version as a PC Game. In Keep Talking And Escape player 1 take the role of a person, who wakes up in a strange apartment without any memories. Player 2 is a ghost, who died in the same location. He can’t remember anything as well. They are locked in the apartment and must try to open the door and escape before the evil owner returns. The characters have different abilities, that’s why they can only solve the riddles together by keep talking to each other. They need to solve various puzzles by combining objects, examining and moving them or interacting with their environment in other ways to open all five locks and escape.

MY ROLE:
I was responsible for 3D-modeling and texturing various models in the environment of the game. In addition, I was a main part in environment design and I created the intro (party scene) of the game.
THE DESIGN PROCESS:
The biggest inspiration for the game were primarily real-life escape rooms. The gameplay and puzzle dependencies should be typical for point and clic adventures. The game “Hello Neighbor” was a great inspiration for our chosen art style and for the general atmosphere in the game. A main part of the process was to conceptualize, model and place all the object in the environment in a logical and exciting way. This allows the player to interact with his surroundings and have a great game experience. At the beginning of the project, we created a paper version of the game. A game master gives an introduction about your location and your cooperation partner. For your orientation player 1 and player 2 have different 2D pictures of the apartment. To interact with objects you need to ask the game master, who will tell you what you see and what you can do.

A BRIEF INGAME RIDDLE:
Use the slider to figure out the 7-digit code. In the game you will be able to see the block of houses across the street through a telescope in the apartment. But the human doesn't have the same sight as the ghost. This is a good example of how the two players can only work together to find the combination code and open a lock.*
